EM/ SPA DORFBLUME "DORF"
Davignon-Matcho AA-Garibaldi
DOB: 1996 Registry: Elite Mare American Hanoverian Society
|
I found this stunning mare while on a buying trip to Germany. She was 3 years old, very quiet and reserved. The riding school was about 3/4 mile down the road so Mr. Boesch tacked up the mare, hopped on his old bicycle and off he went with her trotting along side. She remained quiet even as drivers whizzed by at German driving speed. Her riding trainer explained to us that she had only been under saddle one month in preparation for her Mare Performance Test (MPT). As she started to work under saddle she showed her perfect walk, very correct trot, and fantastic fluid canter. This was the mare I was looking to start my small breeding program having all the qualities of a true "foundation" mare.

Inspection Scores and Show Record
Dorfblume completed her MPT in Germany with a phenomenal final score of 7.72. Individual scores for gaits were walk 10, trot 7, canter 9. At her Inspection she received 8's on type, quality, head, neck and frame. As a 2 year old she placed second at the Mare Show in Elmlohe and garnered her 1a prize (champion) as a 3 year old at the highly competetive Mare Show in Dobrock, Germany. She received her Elite Mare status when she had her first foal in 2001 here in the US.

Family Lineage
There is nothing more important than having a solid mother-line in your breeding program. EM/ SPA Dorfblume descends from one of Germanys top mother-lines, something that gives me great pride.
EM/ SPA Dorfblume's sire Davignon is by the legendary Donnerhall. Davignon has produced many FEI level horses and states premium and elite mares. He is generally considered one of Donnerhall's greatest sons being the 1992 winner of the Bundeschampionat. For more information on Davignon click on his picture at the bottom of this page. Donnerhall of course needs no introduction. His accomplishments are too many to list here as he not only excelled in the breeding shed producing more than 77 approved sons and 84 states premium mares, but also in sport under Karin Rehbein winning more than 65 FEI level competitions. For a beautifully written history on Donnerhall please visit www.horse-gate.com/donnerhall/index_en.html
Dorfblume's dam SPS Marschfee was the 1991 winner of the Louis-Wiegels-Show in Germany. In 1990 Marschfee completed her MPT with a final score of 8.17 and was winner of the suitability class. She is sired by Matcho AA a great refining stallion owned by the Celle State Stud. SPS Marschfee has produced only states premium daughters and licensed sons including Di Versace and another that was sold to Belgium.
Dorfblume's full sister, SPS Dorfee, has had multiple breeding successes. Her 2005 colt by Hilltop Rousseau placed 9th at this years German Hanoverian Foal Championships, her 2004 filly by Weltissimo won the mature class at the Ingo Pape Show, and her 2002 colt by Rotspon, named Rubiano, was a licensed stallion in the process of completing his 70-day test in Germany before his untimely death at a young age. Rubiano was owned by Barbara Schmidt, DVM of Bridlewood Farm in Kentucky (www.bridlewoodhanoverians.com) and was standing at Hengestation Meyer in Germany at the time of his death.
Dorfblume's full brother Di Versace is a licensed stallion standing in Germany.
Dorfblume's most famous relative is Del Piero, the 1998 champion and 1999 vice champion of the Bundeschampionat. Del Piero's dam SPS Mascha is the full sister to Dorfblume's dam SPS Marschfee and his sire is Donnerhall.

EM Roseblume
In 2001 Dorfblume had her first foal, a black filly by Rotspon. I named her Roseblume and she is currently going very well under saddle. She completed her MPT in October 2005 with fantastic scores and completed her Elite Mare status in 2008 foaling a gorgeous filly (via ET) by Sinatra Song. The winter of 05/06 she competed in the FEI 5 year old classes in Wellington, FL. She did quite well against some stiff competition. Please visit EM Roseblume's page for detailed information.

Royal Blume Born in 2003 and sired by Rhodes Scholar. He was a leggy colt with a huge lofty trot. Unfortunately he died in a tragic pasture accident at the age of 1 month old. We are saddened by his lost even greater after the death of his sire Rhodes Scholar.

Borealis Blume
BB was born in 2005 and is by the Class A Welsh pony stallion BF Oliver twist. He is excelling under saddle and recently participated in a Jessica Ransenhousen Clinic Dec '09. She had only great things to say about him and thought he was a fine example of todays sport ponies.

Rhodayo Blume
This colt was born Feb. 2009 and is by the amazing Dutch stallion Rousseau. He is extremely well conformed and has three super gaits. He has been one of the easiest foals to work with and is for sale. To see more pictures and information about Rhodayo go to his page in the "for sale" section.

Wolkenblume
Wolkenblume was born in 2011 and is sired by Wolkentanz II. Dr. Ludwig Christmann noted that we in North America are so lucky to have Wolkentanz II standing at stud here as he is one of Weltmeyer's best sons.
Wolkenblume has beautiful conformation and gaits with once again EM/ SPA Dorfblume passing on her tremendous walk and canter. He was one of the amiable foals I have ever raised and loaded right onto the commercial shipper at 1:30am on a rainy night to make his long journey to Vermont. This colt is owned by Jen Davis in Vermont and I eagerly await updates as he matures.
