Rhodayo Blume was born 2/09 and is by Rousseau out of EM/ SPA Dorfblume (Davignon-Matcho-Garibaldi). He was inspected and branded AHS in August with inspector comments "beautiful head and neck, gaits have good suspension and balance".
Labor Day Weekend 2009 he competed at the Raleigh Sporthorse Breed Show placing 1st in "produce of mare" class and 3rd in the Hanoverian IBC class (highest placing foal with the winner of the class being an adult gelding and 2nd place was my adult mare EM Roseblume, Rhodayo's 1/2 sister). Judges comments include "elegant head and neck, well proportioned, good joints, clear rhythm, good overstep at the walk, covers good ground, good articulation of joints". He was phenomenal at the show never rearing, bucking, balking, or shying.
Rhodayo has been started ground work winter 2011 and will start under saddle early 2012. He is a fairly quiet gelding and takes to new things quite easily. As of the end of 2011 he stands at about 16.1h so he is going to be a tall, yet refined, dressage horse. His color is a desirable black bay with a partial white sock on a rear leg.
Rhodayo's sire, Rousseau, needs no introduction as he is the sire of multiple stallions champions in Europe including Wamberto and Ampere. More information can be seen at www.hasslerdressage.com.
Rhodayo's dam, EM/SPA Dorfblume, is a dream mare line for any breeder and stems from one of Germany's most prolific Hanoverian lines. Dorfblume is 3/4 sister to Bundeschampion winner Del Piero, her mother was the 1997 winner of the esteemed Louis Weigel Show in Germany, and she received the incredible scores of walk=10, trot=7, canter=9 at her mare performance test in Germany. His breeding no doubt gears him towards a successful career in the dressage ring. He inherited his dam's amazing walk and canter and his sire's large lofty trot.
Rhodayo's 2005 3/4 brother in Germany (Rousseau/ SPS Dorfee, full sister to EM Dorfblume) was a champion colt that year at foal shows in Germany. Rhodayo Blume is just a lovely.
